Learn more about the Amish communities in the United States.
The Amish Community adheres to principles and practices that are often different from the practices of the larger community that surrounds them. In the East the Pennsylvania Dutch are well known as a community of people and in the Midwest there are other Amish groups which are similar but yet have some differences in their practices. Thus, a book about "the Amish" will not always include the same practices as different regions do implement practices and traditions in a different way. Read the following books about the Amish and discuss where the Amish in each book are located and how the various groups differ in terms of their practices and so forth.
